"Could There Be a Functional Cure for HIV?"
When: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 05:30 PM - 07:00 PM
Where: Harborview Medical Center (2nd Floor West Clinic), 325 9th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104
What: A 45-year-old man, Timothy Ray Brown, now living in the Bay Area, tested positive for HIV back in 1995, but now has entered the scientific journals as the first man in world history to have his HIV completely eliminated from his body.
Although cured, Timothy Brown faced a radical procedure that may not be applicable to many other people with HIV, because of the difficulty in doing stem cell transplants, and finding the right donor.
This one case does open the door to the field of cure research, which is now gaining more attention.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 24th at 5:30 PM in the ACTU Conference Room in Harborview Medical Center (2 West Clinic, behind Desk B).
IF YOU DON'T HAVE A MEDICAL DEGREE BUT WANT TO UNDERSTAND THE RESEARCH INTO A CURE FOR HIV, THIS IS THE MEETING FOR YOU.
we will provide dinner for you.
We can also cover your parking at the HMC garage. Just bring your parking ticket with you and we’ll give you a sticker or a pass that covers your time at the meeting.
We also have bus tickets available for those who’d like to use public transportation.
Please RSVP to 206-744-3184
