Il Cidofovir e' un farmaco che si fa in infusione, e ha dimostrato efficacia nel trattamento della Mcv (Molluscum contagiosum virus).
Si tratta di un virus a Dna che causa delle grosse lesioni nei pazienti hiv +,che sono resistenti ai farmaci per uso topico.

Molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV) is a DNA virus in the Poxviridae family that may cause extensive and voluminous lesions often resistant to topical therapies in patients with AIDS and other immunocompromised patients. We present a case of eruptive giant molluscum that caused remarkable deformity in a patient with AIDS. Intravenous (IV) cidofovir was used as therapy, resulting in dramatic improvement.

REPORT OF A CASE

A 43-year-old man who had tested positive for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) presented to our clinic with a CD4 count of 32 cells/µL 4 months after starting highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART).
